North Haven Cops Bust Branford Marijuana Grow House

Branford resident charged with possession.

In a continuing string of marijuana arrests carried out by North Haven Police, the department seized 3.5 pounds of the drug on November 8 in the course of an ongoing investigation. 

Police traced the pot back to a home in Branford at 525 East Main St.

Executing a search warrant at the residence with the help of North Haven's Investigative Services Division, Canine Unit, and Branford Police, officials discovered the location of a marijuana grow operation.

Dean A. Menendez, 49, of Branford was charged with use and possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal possession of more than 4 oz. of marijuana, illegal possession near a school, illegal manufacture and possession of marijuana with intent to sell, and operating a drug factory.

Branford Police Department’s Lt. William Carroll stated that Branford assisted with arrest but did not issue any warrants from the local department. At this time, there are no ongoing investigations regarding this incident according to Carroll.

Menendez was released from custody on a $100,000 bond, and is scheduled to appear at Meriden GA 7 for arraignment on December 1.
