Last week made four internal promotions. This year alone, Branford Police will have seven eligible retirements so the promotions signify change on the horizon for the department.
During the promotion ceremony, officers and became sergeants and sergeants and became lieutenants.
Branford spoke before family, friends and fellow police officers at the ceremony on Aug. 13. “With our retirements we have a loss of knowledge,” he said, “but with these officers we have the future of the Department.”
By way of tradition, the promoted police officers received their new rank after taking an oath led by Halloran and having their badges pinned by loved ones. Konesky’s son Jaeden, Ramey’s mother Lynn, Galdenzi’s daughter Meghan, and O’Malley’s wife Mariefi all did the honors.
Congratulation to Branford’s Finest.
