FBI Recognizes Departing Police Chief John DeCarlo

On the eve of his departure from the position of Branford's Police Chief, John DeCarlo receives a much-deserved pat on the back from the FBI.

In appreciation of his 34 years of dedicated service to law enforcement and his work in bolstering the close working relationship between the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the , Rhonda Glover who is the Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the FBI New Haven office presented with a plaque for his anticipated retirement.

In addition to the plaque, Agent Glover also handed the Chief a letter authored by Robert S. Mueller, III who is the Director of the FBI.

“Having risen through the ranks to become Chief of your department, you are an inspiration to others who aspire to follow in your footsteps.” Mueller continued, “Your strong support of the FBI has greatly enhanced our ability to fulfill our investigative mission, and we are most grateful to you for your dedication to this cooperative spirit….you will be sorely missed.”

Chief DeCarlo said he is humbled by the plaque and the letter from the Director. “I’m looking forward to maintaining a close working relationship with the FBI and law enforcement as a Criminal Justice Professor,” said the Chief.
