Deputy Chief Fowler will head Salisbury PD
Fowler will leave to take the top job in Salisbury, MA, in July.
The Newburyport Daily News reports Branford's Capt. Thomas Fowler has been chosen as the new police chief of Salisbury, MA.:
The long-awaited announcement came yesterday from Town Manager Neil Harrington. Harrington said that Fowler, currently the deputy chief of Connecticut's Branford Police Department, is the right man to revitalize Salisbury Police Department and restore its good name in the community after it was rocked by scandal 18 months ago, when allegations of misdeeds led to the departure of former police Chief David L'Esperance.
Fowler is a 25-year veteran of the He also holds a master's degree in public administration and a bachelor's degree in criminal justice administration from the University of New Haven. In April, Patch reported as a finalist from a pool of 40 applicants.
