Branford Police Thwart Alleged Shop Lifters Who Attempt to Steal Cart of Red Bull

On July 24, the North Branford Police Department received a call at 3:30 p.m. that one of Big Y's loss prevention officers was in foot pursuit of a male shoplifting suspect. The suspect, Spino, was said to have loaded a cart with several cases of Red Bull and attempted to run out of the store.
After being confronted, Spino reportedly abandoned the cart and got into a waiting car, which sped out of the parking lot. A short time later, an alert Branford police officer–who had positioned himself on I-95 and had heard the broadcasted description of the vehicle wanted–stopped the car.

The loss prevention officer identified all parties involved, including Spino, 23, of 9 Byron Dr., Ansonia; Vincent Richitelli, 24, of 42 Chamberlain St., New Haven; and Alana Fiorentino, 23, of 55 Forest View Rd., Northford.
Fiorentino and Richitelli were each charged with conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny, while Spino was charged with sixth-degree larceny.
