This is a wonderful program and most people don't realize that when they flush their unused drugs down the sink or toilet they end up as waste water effluents in Long island Sound. Our treatment plants were never designed to remove pharmaceutical waste from the process. Please take your over-the-counter and prescription drugs to the Branford PD.

Thanks for weighing-in Lori. Here's a link (also included above) to the piece you shared with Patch during last drug take back on the affects of meds in Long Island Sound: http://branford.patch.com/events/help-long-island-sound-on-drug-take-back-day
