Branford Police Issue Burglary Alert for Leetes Island Road Area

Through their B-Informed emergency notification system, Branford police warn residents of the Leetes Island Road area to be on the lookout.

This is a press release from the Branford Police Department:

Over the past week, there have been two residential burglaries in the Leetes Island Road neighborhood. One was an attempted burglary that happened during the evening hours and the other occurred during the daytime when the home was unoccupied. Items taken have included TV’s, computers and other electronic devices.

Investigators believe that a possible suspect may include a white male who operates a black colored SUV style vehicle, however this information is and speculation at his point.

The Police Department is requesting your assistance in being vigilant and reporting any suspicious people or activity in your area by watching your neighbor’s homes. Examples of suspicious include, door to door sales people, meter readers from any utility companies, suspicious vehicles parked or moving slowly through the area.

When reporting activity, police dispatchers will request as much information as possible. Please try to report a precise location and detailed descriptions of suspicious people including gender, race and clothing and for vehicles include make, model, color and license plate numbers if possible.
