Branford Police Awards Teen for Bravery

Jordan Ledyard was honored with a Citizen's Award for Bravery by the Branford Police Department.

On April 8, the Branford Police Department honored teen Jordan Ledyard with a Citizen's Award for Bravery prior to the ceremony promoting Kris Hormuth to BPD's first female lieutenent.

Ledyard leapt into action on March 7 when she saw a large man assaulting an elderly couple. Though she was assaulted when she intervened, Ledyard, an 8th-grader at Clinton's Eliot Middle School, was able to help the victims to safety.

Police Chief Kevin Halloran shared the story of Ledyard's act of bravery with those in attendance on April 8 before presenting Ledyard with a plaque in honor of her bravery.
