Branford Murder Suspect Wins Access to Public Funding

Man accused of killing one person, attempting to kill another

A Branford man who is facing both murder and attempted murder charges won a State Supreme Court decision Monday that will allow him the right to utilize public defender funding for hiring experts and an investigator for his upcoming trial, the New Haven Register reports.

Dr. Lishan Wang, 48, is accused of the shooting death of Dr. Vajinder Toor, 34, outside his Branford condominium on April 26, 2010.

Wang is also alleged to have taken a shot at Toor’s pregnant wife, but she was able to avoid being hit, the Register reports.
