Branford Man Found Dead Near Beach

No foul play is suspected.

At 12:18 a.m. this morning Branford Fire and Police departments responded to Limewood Avenue across from Waverly Road on the report of an unresponsive person.

When they arrived, a male Branford resident, 54, who is believed by neighbors to live in the area, was found slumped over the New Jersey barrier in front of the beach.

Chief Jack Ahern reported that it appeared the man had suffered cardiac arrest. He was pronounced dead on scene. Ahern stated that it was apparent that there was no foul play.
