Greenwich Police have arrested a Branford man on charges he continually harassed and threatened a Greenwich woman he once dated -- including threatening to kill her.

Jeffrey W. Sager, 37, of 55 Flatrock Road in Branford, was found by Milford Police in an unidentified motel in that town just before 6 a.m. Sept. 16, according to a Greenwich Police report. Greenwich Police picked up Sager and brought him to Greenwich where he was charged with first-degree harassment and second-degree threatening.

Greenwich Police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray would not say how police determined Sager's location.

According to the police report, Sager and the victim previously dated. The woman told police that he harassed and threatened her for several months, prompting her to move and change her cell phone number. Sager is accused of obtaining the woman's new phone number, calling and texting threats including threats that he had her new address and would kill her, according to the report.

The woman's previous address was not reported.

Sager was held in lieu of $50,000 bond and was scheduled to appear Sept. 17 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
