Branford Man Dupes Durham Car Dealer

State police arrested Eugene Lupoli after a six month investigation, according to the Middletown Press.

A Branford man who had nearly $1,100 worth of repairs done to his car at Mercedez Benz by Ken Marino in Durham has been arrested after the check he wrote to pay for the bill bounced, the Middletown Press reports.

Eugene Lupoli, 48, was arrested by state police Friday and charged with fourth degree larceny.

According to the report, police spent six months investigating the case and say Lupoli wrote the check for $1,08.91 to pay for work on his Merdedez-Benz 500.

When the dealership was told the account had insufficient funds, Lupoli reportedly told the owner he planned to pay, but never did.
