Branford Firefighters Knock Down House Fire

There were no injuries as Branford Fire Department extinguished a blaze in a vacant house on Fern Court last night.

 

The following is a press release from Chief Jack Ahern the Branford Fire Department

This evening the Fire Department responded to 11 Fern Court at 8:39 p.m. for a structure fire. Upon arrival units found heavy smoke coming from the entire structure along with flames on the first floor. Crews attempted to enter the front door however the floor had completely burned away. Firefighters then entered the rear of the home and extinguished the fire.

At the time of the fire the house was vacant and under renovation. A neighbor smelled smoke and dialed 911.

The fire was brought under control within 15 minutes of arrival. Firefighters were able to remove a classic car from the garage and covered the vehicle to prevent any damage from debris.

There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
