The town dump extends hours for one more weekend and Halloween moves to Saturday, Nov. 10.

Power Restoration
CL&P has restored power to vast majority of Branford. They continue to work on smaller side streets and single homes. If you are still without power you can call CL&P at 1-800-286-2000.

Contractors
Residents must be aware of scammers and unlicensed contractors who will attempt to prey on vulnerable homeowners in need of emergency repairs. Never prepay for work – especially in cash. All Contractors should be licensed and insured to perform work. If it seems suspicious, call police.

Fire Safety
Please be cautious when using candles and extinguish them when going to bed.

Any propane devices for cooking should be used outside only. As temperatures lower, Do not use outdoor cooking appliances for indoor heat

Shelters & Public Showering Facilities
Shelters are closed however you can contact the Emergency Operation Center if emergency sheltering is required. 

Planet Fitness and Branford’s YMCA are available for the community to shower. (please bring your own towels and toiletries).

Federal Disaster Assistance
Residents can begin applying for Public Disaster Assistance immediately by calling 1-800-621-FEMA or online at http://www.disasterassistance.gov
Governor Malloy has announced that Insurance Companies cannot impose detectible for Hurricane Insurance claims.

Debris*
The Town’s curbside collection resumed to normal on Monday.

The Transfer Station at 747 East Main. St. was open Monday with extended hours until 5:00p.m. but will return to normal hours: 7:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. from now on, except for Saturday, Nov. 10 when it will be open, 7:15 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Residents can pile brush at the curb for future collection. However, please do not block storm drains.

Bulky material dumpsters will be out until next Monday, Nov. 12 (ie. rugs, furniture, construction debris etc. No Food or Brush) will be located at: 
Parker Memorial Park – Harbor St. Adult Daycare – Shore Dr.
Pine Orchard Rd. by Riverside Dr. Thimble Island Rd (between the flag pole and the beach)
Fire Company 9 – Linden Ave. VFW parking lot – Indian Neck Ave. at South Montowese St.
Beckett Ave. by Bristol St.

Elections 
There is no change for tomorrow’s elections and all polling places remain open.

Halloween
Due to the prediction of another storm on Wednesday, we have decided to postpone Trick-or-Treating to Saturday, Nov. 10th.
