Branford Driver Slams SUV Into East Haven Home
East Haven Police are investigating the incident, which occured on Hemingway Avenue shortly after noon on Monday.
A man had to be extricated from vehicle after truck left the roadway and struck an East Haven home early this afternoon.
According to Lt. Joseph Slane, the incident occurred about 12:15 p.m.
'Vehicle Crossed Over'

Slane said the preliminary investigation indicates that a Ford Explorer, operated by Ronald Swanson, 73, of Branford, was traveling south on Hemingway Avenue.
"The vehicle crossed over the northbound lanes, left the roadway, and struck the residence of 211 Hemingway Avenue," Slane stated.

Driver Extricated
He added that the had to extricate Swanson from the vehicle.
He was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
"The injuries appear to be non-life threatening," Slane stated.
Investigation Continues
Although there does appear to be structural damage to the residence, Slane said no one was in the residence at the time of the accident.
East Haven Police are continuing to investigate the incident. And they are asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident to contact the department at 203-468-3820.
