Branford Crash Leaves Woman with Life-Threatening Injuries

A car hit a tree on Hosley Avenue in Branford late last night with two passengers in the vehicle.

At 1:21 Sunday morning, the Branford Fire and Police Department’s responded to a serious car accident on Hosley Avenue. Upon arrival of Police Department units, the officers found a car into a tree, one occupant was out of the vehicle and a passenger was trapped inside. 

The vehicle was on fire and police officers quickly removed her and carried her to safety. Upon the fire department's arrival, they were faced with a car fire, two injured people, one of which was in very serious condition. The fire was extinguished and crews from Medic-1 and Medic-2  treated the victims. 

Deputy Chief Tom Mahoney stated that “both the Police and Fire crews worked quickly and efficiently to treat the victims and transport them to the hospital."

Mahoney stated the passenger had very serious and life-threatening injuries, the driver had non-life threatening injuries. Both victims were transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Responding Fire units included, Engine-1, Engine-2, Medic-1 and Medic-2.
