[UPDATE] I-95 Open After Multi-Vehicle Crash Causes Closure
Both lanes now open on I-95 southbound on the Branford-Guilford line after an afternoon accident closed the highway; no word on injuries.
Update 5:15 p.m.
Connecticut State Police Troop F reports that both I-95 southbound lanes are now cleared following the multi-car crash that occurred at 4:20 p.m. at exit 57 today. The highway was closed to all traffic between exit 57 in Guilford and exit 56 in Branford.
Troop F reported that the multi-vehicle accident was cleared around 5 p.m.

Guilford Fire Department was unable to confirm any accident details or disclose if anyone was injured, however initial reports indicate that one person was extricated from a vehicle.
Troop F said that all vehicles involved in the crash have been removed and the site of the accident has been cleaned up.

Original Story: Accident Closes I-95 South at Exit 57
Early reports indicate that a motor vehicle accident has closed down Interstate 95 south at the Guilford/Branford line around 4:20 p.m.
There are no detials at this time, except that both lanes south are closed from exit 57 in Guilford to exit 56 in Branford due to a multi-car accident. There are reports of at least one injured and one extrication.
Branford Fire Department confirmed the incident but did not report to the scene; Guilford Fire Department handled the response.
