3-Year-Old at Yale Hospital Following Tractor Accident

Allegedly, she was with a parent on a two-seat tractor when she either fell off or was run over, sustaining injuries.

Shortly after 6 p.m. Monday, Clinton Police responded to a tractor accident at 110 Commerce St., Clinton, involving a 3-year-old girl.

Sgt. Jeremiah Dunn of the Clinton Police said that the girl, who is not being named at this time, was with a parent, also not being named, seated on a tractor when she either fell off or was run over, sustaining injuries.

The tractor was in motion when the incident occurred, said police.

The 110 Commerce Street is a private home, noted Dunn. The tractor was not a lawn mower type vehicle but a medium-size vehicle with a bucket on one side and a scoop on the other. It has two seats, one allegedly held the parent, the other allegedly the young girl.

The incident is reminiscent of a tragic accident earlier this summer involving a Branford 2-year-old and his grandfather.

The incident is currently under investigation.
