"Out of curiosity, how exactly was Mr. Young able to acquire that much land in the Pine Orchard area AND do so much with it? Was he a railroad tycoon like Timothy Blackstone?"
noted that Mr. Young was involved in the railroad here in Branford: the electric railroad that ran the trolley system in the early 1900s. But Alden M. Young's involvement in the Branford Electric Railway is only a part of his career. I've done a little digging and have come up with a little of Mr. Young's history – but before I post the answer, what do you think? Do you know how Alden M. Young made his money? If you don't know – what would you guess?
