Wedding Tip of the Week: Seating your Guests

Wedding seating charts made easy with this tip!

The RSVP's are rolling in (approximately 80% yes, 20% no is a typical rule of thumb for a summer wedding) and now you need to figure out where to seat your guests!  You want to ensure that everyone enjoys themselves, without driving yourself crazy in the process.  Enter Martha Stewart -- yes she does seating charts too.  I used this tip from Martha Stewart Weddings for my own wedding, so I will give you the Erin guarantee that it works!

1) Divide your guest list into categories -- such as wedding party, family, our friends, family friends -- and assign a different-color sticky note tab for each.

2) Write out everyone's names on the appropriately colored strips.

3) Print out or draw large circles on printer paper to represent the tables at your wedding, remembering to number them.  I also like the suggestion to use paper plates.

4) Get started arranging and rearranging your color coded guest tabs around the tables. The note colors show whether you have a good mix at each table.
