What don't people get about "PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG"!!

We walk our dog daily throughout various areas in Branford--Trolley trail, Branford center, Young's Pond etc.

There is nothing more irritating/disgusting while walking your dog and finding dog waste on sidewalks, grassy areas, town green and trails.

There is a town ordinance mandating one picks up after their dog which is not enforced......THIS IS A HEALTH HAZARD!!!

Some people actually use plastic bags to pick up the poop and then leave the bags along the trail or chuck them into the woods. Once the poop is in the bag, it'll be there almost forever. If you take the time to pick up the poop (and many people don't at the Supply Ponds and the Trolley Trail in Stony Creek), please discard it responsibly.

Abandoned pet waste is the number one cause of beach closings in Branford. What gets left on the ground, plastic-wrapped or not, eventually winds up in the Sound. This was brought home to me a couple of years ago when I noticed a floating plastic bag while swimming near Stony Creek and swam over to pull it out, only to find it filled with nasty brown 'soup'. Think of all the people who like to use the Sound in the summer, and take your pet waste home and put it where it won't cause this problem. Thanks.

The Stony Creek Trolley Trail is disgusting. You have to watch your every step to avoid a mess. Please pick up after your dog. I can't wait to start walking it again with spring coming. Can you please help it to be a pleasure again?

I have always wondered how people who let their dogs off the lease find their waste to pick up. Control your dog, pick up it's waste. You and your dog are not special!
