Are you aware that Memorial Day was originally established to remember those who served our country during wartime and lost their lives? The “National Moment of Remembrance” resolution asks Americans to pause at 3 pm local time “To voluntarily and informally observe in their own way a moment of remembrance and respect, pausing from whatever they are doing for a moment of silence or listening to 'Taps.'" This time may not work for everyone but we can each take a few moments on Memorial Day to think about and quietly thank all the veterans who have served our country and those who made the ultimate sacrifice for us.
