Facebook and Good Grades: They Don't Mix
Having trouble concentrating on your work? Consider this.
What would you say if I told you that your social networking is the only thing seperating you from success? You would probably think I'm crazy, right?
Parents, as a high school student, I can tell you that if you took away your child's Facebook for a month their grades would skyrocket. In fact, I would even go as far as to say that if all social networking was eliminated, a student's grades would improve significantly. However, doing such a thing would be considered absurd in the fast-paced, 21st century society that we live in.
Have you ever heard a complain about how he or she is up untill midnight every night doing homework? Here's why: almost every single high school student I know has a account of some kind and is on it constantly. Unfortunately, most of the time the students are online when they are doing homework and this proves to be a huge distraction. Most high-schoolers will admit that if it weren't for Facebook or Twitter, they would be in bed every single night at 9 p.m. whilst upholding an outstanding GPA.

Now, all of that being said, I still think that these social networking sites are a great tool and a great thing to have. I personally have Twitter and Facebook accounts that I have used to form many friendships. However, every time I need to get someting done I put my cell phone downstairs and close my laptop.
So try it! Every time you really need to crunch down on something, try signing off of the internet for a while. You will find that you are completing tasks much more effectively and efficiently. It will also take a lot of stress off of your shoulders and you will be able to go to bed at an earlier time. Taking a break from social networking could be the key to YOUR success.
