Nonprofit organizations must submit their applications by Aug. 15 for consideration

This one's for you, Connecticut nonprofits!

NBC Connecticut and the NBCUniversal Foundation have announced that they're teaming up to offer competitive grants to nonprofit organizations this summer.

According to NBC Connecticut's website, a total of $100,000 in grants is up for grabs in Connecticut. The winner takes home a $50,000 grant and $25,000 will go to two runners-up.

Non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations that are located in and provide service to the NBC Connecticut market are invited to apply. Submissions must be received by Aug. 15.

The organization should be less than three years old, NBC Connecticut says, and should work in the areas of Arts and Media, Civic Engagement, Jobs and Economic Empowerment, Community Development, Technology and Innovation, Education, and Environment.

rather harsh and does not mention Congress or that fact that any CEO expects their chain of commandRead More to do the job assigned. The events of the last few years, the endless wars, homeland terrorism etc. Not an easy time for any Commander -in Chief. When an article simply slams and does not balance with positive accomplishments, it is hard to see the readers point of view
