Fundraiser for Ben Backes

On April 21, Branford High junior Ben Backes sustained a severe spinal cord injury from a fall of over 35 feet from a cliff.

Backes has paralysis from the chest down but can use his hands and arms.

In order for Backes to return home and back to school,  his family will need to adapt many aspects of their home. In addition to installing a ramp to the house, an elevator will need to be installed inside the home as well as a handicapped bathroom; the family will also need to purchase a handicap-adapted vehicle.

There will be a great cook out catered by the Owenego’s award winning kitchen, and live music from The Sin Sisters.

A silent auction and raffle prizes will all be part of the fun event.
