Jane Bouley, Branford Historian, will present a lecture about the history of Summer Hotels in Stony Creek on January 24.
Branford was a destination shortly after the Civil War for people intent on spending time on the shoreline during the summer. Stony Creek was one of the most popular destinations with nine summer hotels, several of which were on the Thimble Islands. The talk begins at 7:00 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.
This program is sponsored by the Friends of Willoughby Wallace Library. In the event of snow the talk will be rescheduled to Friday, January 31.
