Shoreline Actors Collective Presents: Shakespeare's "Macbeth"

The Shoreline Actors Collective (SAC) started at Kidz Konnection of Clinton, CT. SAC is made up of actors from the age of 13 up who enjoy performing and expanding their knowledge and ability in the art of theater. Throughout the year, SACtors, as they are now called, perform in different types of service-related programs including the Clinton Historical Society's Graveyard Tours, 350th Celebration of Clinton, and Christmas in Clinton, as well as Chamard Vineyard for Theater in the Barn events.  Each summer the troupe comes together to perform a Shakespeare play. This year the performance will be Shakespeare's drama MACBETH.

Synopsis: Macbeth is a man who falls to the power and witchcraft of three witches and their gift for telling the future. Once told that he is to be Thane of Cawdor and King of Scotland, he questions what they have said and quickly tells his wife of the meeting. His wife, longing to see him ascend in power, uses her sexual allurement to lure him toward betrayal and murder of the Scottish king. Soon being crowned king, himself, Macbeth sends murderers to kill his best friend, Banquo, who he fears may know of his horrible deed. Macbeth returns to the three witches, also known as the Weird Sisters, only to receive three warnings, which he disregards, assuming he can not be defeated. Now driven by his lust for power, and haunted by the ghosts of those whom he has betrayed, Macbeth continues in his slaughter of the innocents, soon slaying the family of Macduff, creating a greater enemy than he could ever comprehend. The house of Lords grows restless in Macbeth's rule, and he draws together an army awaiting a war against Macduff and the old kings sons who had banded together to rid the land of his tyranny. Ultimately meeting upon the battle field, Macbeth and Macduff fight a great duel, resulting in the final demise of Macbeth and the restoration of the old king's son, Malcolm, returning to his place on the throne of Scotland. Hence the land of the Scott's gain one of its greatest names as the land of the Great Tragedy, and Rise of Noble men.

This event is set in the beautifully manicured gardens of the Clinton Historical Society, 103 East Main St, Clinton, also known as Old Brick.
