What will YOU find on the Shoreline ArtsTrail? There is a lot to discover, so join us for the 11th annual Open Studios Weekend, November 17 and 18, 2012. In total, 47 artists from Branford, Guilford, and Madison are participating in this two-day event, presenting works in cut paper, engraving, fiber, found objects, glass, goldsmithing, jewelry, metal, paint, pastels, photography, pottery, printmaking, sculpture, stained glass, and textiles.

For their support of this special event, we’d especially like to welcome our Community Sponsors: Friends & Company, Guilford Arts Center, Lenny’s Indian Head Inn, Tommy Sullivan’s, and the Wall Street Gallery.

This year, we’re also joined by seven Tourism Members, a collection of local businesses offering discounts and specials during Open Studios Weekend. They include: Friends and Company, Lenny's, Linden Point House, R.J. Julia Booksellers, HOME, The Kelsey House, The Tidewater Inn, Tommy Sullivan's, and the Wall Street Gallery. Plus, be sure to watch for a special Shoreline ArtsTrail Kick-Off event, hosted by Friends & Company sometime in October!

Another unique feature of this year’s Open Studios Weekend is the increased number of collaborative efforts. Scattered throughout the ArtsTrail, you’ll meet up with a number of artists sharing creative space for the weekend, including at Chroma Gallery, Clay Bodies Pottery Studio, Guilford Art Center, Luckey & Merrill Studio, Martha Link Walsh Gallery, Metalicious Studio, The Glass Hut, and The Potere.

If you hadn’t noticed, the Shoreline ArtsTrail is growing, offering a chance to explore and meet more artists than ever before. So, what else will you find on the shoreline arts trail?

•        A weekend destination: Art, shopping and dining!

•        Art in your backyard: A thriving community of local artists!

•        A unique shopping opportunity: Just in time for the holidays!

•        A family event: art is a great learning experience for all ages!

During Open Studios Weekend, the distinctive yellow “Open Studio” signs will point you to all of these artists and studios. For specific locations and more information about events, discount offers and participating artists, pick up a copy of the Shoreline ArtsTrail map, available in libraries, town halls and visitors’ centers in Branford, Guilford and Madison, as well as at the Guilford Art Center and the various studios.
