NOVEMBER 11, 2012, Sunday, Branford – Branford Veterans Day Parade, downtown Branford. Quoting from the postcard dated 9/5/2012 that we received from Branford Veterans Parade Committee Chairman Dr. Frank Whelan: “…Hi Steve, As Chair of the Branford Veterans Day Parade on 11 November 2012 at 1:30pm on the Cenotaph at the rear of Town Hall, we would be honored if you and your group could participate again, as usual. Parade starts at the corner of Montowese and South Main Street. Hope to see you all there!... Best, Frank Whelan, Chair…” Chairman Whelan also provided these additional details about the schedule for the day: “…Branford Veterans Day Parade… Assembly at 1:00pm… Services at 1:30pm at the Cenotaph at the rear of Town Hall; parade step-off shortly thereafter.”...
..... Thanks so much to Chairman Whelan and the entire Branford Veterans Parade Committee for the gracious invitation to antique automobiles to participate again this year in the Branford Veterans Day Parade. We greatly enjoy participating and feel honored to be able to help pay tribute to our town’s and our country’s military veterans. Here is our online report on antique auto participation in the 2011 Branford Veterans Day Parade: http://home.comcast.net/~shorelinesteve/BFDVETS11/Report.html . Additional notes - As I recall from last year, Chairman Whelan requested antique autos to stage along the side of Montowese, facing south toward the South Main Street intersection (the parade itself starts on South Main Street when the civic groups and marching units conclude the ceremonies at the Cenotaph). Antique autos then join in from there. (this event was added to this calendar as of 9/10/2012)
