BHS Performing Arts Presents: "Crazy For You"

Branford High School (BHS) Performing Arts will present Crazy for You, a Tony Award winning romantic musical comedy based on the 1930s musical Girl Crazy, featuring the music of George and Ira Gershwin. The show runs from March 19-23, 2014, in the BHS Auditorium. The Spring Musical features the talents of over 90 Branford high school students both on and off stage. The production is directed by Toni Cartisano and Cathyann Roding, who have collaborated for 29 years at BHS, which is widely known for its quality productions and sell-out crowds.
Crazy for You is a hilarious comedy that tells the story of an aspiring dancer, Bobby Child. Bobby travels from New York City to the lifeless town of Deadrock, Nevada, under orders from his mother to get a deed of property signed by Everett Baker. Once in Deadrock, Bobby falls in love at first sight with Polly Baker, Everett’s daughter, and tries to devise a plan to save her father’s theatre. Like any Gershwin musical, Crazy for You features fabulous tap dance numbers, mistaken identity, and humorous plot twists.
