Becoming Tom Thumb

The Branford Historical Society welcomes author Eric Lehman discussing his book, Becoming Tom Thumb, subtitled "The Dawn of American Celebrity." Charles Stratton, dubbed "Tom Thumb" by P.T. Barnum, was one of the most popular celebrities of the 19th Century.

Eric Lehman teaches literature and creative writing at the University of Bridgeport, and has written widely about Connecticut History. His essays, reviews, poems and stories have been widely published in journals and magazines. (Perhaps stories of Branford will become a future subject!)

The program begins at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free, and refreshments will be served. Information about Branford Historical Society Membership will be available.
