8th Annual Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation Walk Across Southeastern CT

Dream of a future without breast cancer? Take action by walking on October 5 in the 8th Annual Walk Across Southeastern CT – Support the Cause and Raise Funds for Breast Cancer Research!

It is estimated that there will be more than 3,000 cases of breast cancer diagnosed in CT in 2013 and that almost 500 will die from the disease. Death rates for breast cancer have steadily decreased in women since 1989 due to progress in earlier detection, improved treatment, and possibly decreased incidence as a result of declining use of hormone replacement therapy.

By walking in the Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer (TBBCF) Walk Across Southeastern CT you will increase funding of breast cancer research that leads to earlier detection, better treatments and ultimately prevention of this disease!  The Walk goal is to raise funds for research through walker fundraising commitments.  Youth walkers must raise $100 and choose any marathon walk option.  Adult walkers must raise $200 for a quarter marathon, $250 for a half marathon and $500 for a full marathon walk.  The Foundation commits that 100% of funds raised goes directly to breast cancer research! In seven years, TBBCF has funded over $2.4 M in breast cancer research!

There are Youth Walk Team options for 12-18 year olds. Gather 8 or more youth with a Youth Walk Coach and the Coach only pays registration with no fundraising requirement.  Or, gather 7 or fewer youth with an adult walker and the adult pays registration and meets the fundraising requirement.

Walkers are provided with training and fundraising support and the opportunity to meet others who come together for a common cause and purpose.  Walkers can make a difference in their lives and the lives of others.
