Route 1 One of the 'Most Dangerous' Roads in CT

A new study says the Boston Post Road is hazardous for pedestrians. What roads in Branford do you think are the worse?

The (Route 1) which runs through Orange has been identified as in the state. 

A report on WTNH-TV Channel 8 said a study by the Tri-State Transportation Campaign looked at pedestrian accidents from 2008 to 2010 in Connecticut. Based on that data, the Post Road, as well as Route 5, were deemed the most dangerous in the state.

WTNH reported that one of the accidents that led the study to identify the Boston Post Road as one of the most dangerous was a fatality in Orange in December 2008.

While Branford escapes this study with no reported pedestrian deaths on our roads during the timeframe of this study, we've had our far share of accidents.

To avoid possible pedestrian accidents, the state has recently agreed to put a at the intersection of Alps Road and West Main Street.
