Record Heat

It looks like we're going to have two days of excessive heat as high pressure dominates the region. Do what you can to escape the heat!

The National Weather Service has issued an Air Quality Alert, which is in effect from 2 to 11 p.m. today. To anyone with respiratory problems, I would recommend staying indoors.

On days like these, the closer you are to the shoreline the better. Cooler ocean waters help to minimize the heating of the day.

NOTE- The record set in New Haven for Thursday is 93 degrees set back in 1973
