According to an article by the New Haven Register, this year’s relatively warm, dry winter and dry conditions this spring are a setback for mosquitoes in Connecticut.
That could turn around if we get a spell of wet weather. At any event, state medical entomologist Theodore G. Andreadis said residents should still take the usual precautions against exposure to mosquitoes and eliminating any standing water near the home, because a mosquito bite can result in serious disease infections, including West Nile virus.
