Police to Use DNA to Solve Property Crimes

WSFB-TV reported this week that the local police are training officers to collect DNA evidence from routine crime scenes, not just at major crime scenes, in hopes of battling a wave of larcenies that plagued the town last year.
The television news report said Branford cops recorded more than 600 theft complaints in 2011, a sharp increase from previous years.
