JBML Has New Director; Hint She Comes from East Haven
Former Director of the East Haven Hagaman Memorial Library has been appointed the new Director of the James Blackstone Memorial Library.

Karen Jensen, Director of the Hagaman Memorial Library in East Haven, has been appointed the new Director of the James Blackstone Memorial Library in Branford. The appointment was made by the Blackstone Board of Trustees at a meeting on December 6.
Prior to joining the Hagaman Library, Jensen served as Assistant Director of the Plumb Memorial Library in Shelton, following previous service at public libraries in Newington and Enfield. She succeeds Kathy Rieger who resigned last spring to take a position in Iowa.

Andrew McKirdy, President of the Board of Trustees, said that, “Karen’s experience and her commitment to exploring new ways technology can enhance the library experience will be a great asset to the Blackstone Library as we move forward toward the achievement of important goals that we have set for ourselves.”
Jensen indicated that she “was honored and delighted to accept the appointment. The Blackstone Library is not only a physical icon in the community, but it represents a standard of excellence in library service that I look forward to helping to build on.”

Jensen will begin her new duties at the Blackstone Library on January 14.
