Health District Issues Rabies Warning for Branford
A bat and a raccoon captured last week tested positive for rabies.
The East Shore District Health Department, which issued a rabies alert last summer, has again warned residents of Branford that the fatal disease is on the rise.
According to a report by WFSB-TV Channel 3, the Health District has warned residents to stay away from wild animals and make sure their pets’ vaccinations are up-to-date.
The television station quoted health officials saying that two animals caught last week, a bat that got into a house and a raccoon that attacked a dog, both tested positive for rabies.
