Happy Birthday Branford Patch, Happy Birthday to YOU

A year has gone by and it's been a pleasure serving the readers of our town.

If you’ve been following Branford Patch since you probably know that some things have changed since then. The way we deliver the news continues to evolve as the medium and industry changes and our understanding of Branford and the news that matters most to you gets better as each day passes. As I reflect on the one-year anniversary of the site, I can’t help but note the one and most important thing that has remained the same: all of you!

To celebrate, YOU, please accept our invitation for free cake and coffee on Patch tomorrow (Sat., Dec. 17) at from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.). We’ll also be awesome Patch prizes like t-shirts, water bottles and more. We’ll be holding a drawing for gift certificates as well, just to say thanks for all you do to keep Branford Patch one of the most vibrant and best news sites around.

As many of you know, and have witnessed by my often-tired eyes and ubiquitous appearances around town, I’m busy. There’s always something to write about and mostly it’s because of you. There are so many great stories happening in Branford that I can barely keep up. The community keeps giving; the police and firefighters continue to keep us safe; town government guides us; the school system keeps churning out shining stars; businesses continue to ebb and flow. I’ve been doing my best to keep up and document every moment of our lives.

Before I highlight some of my favorite Patch moments this year (and be sure to tell me what you favorite stories were), I want to thank every one of you who has commented, posted an announcement, added an event, became a blogger, signed-up for our newsletter, liked us on Facebook or followed us on Twitter. It’s your participation that has made Patch a destination and it is you, my dear readers who keep me waking-up every morning to serve you!

I also want to thank all my loyal contributors who have come, gone and continue to be part of Patch. In no particular order but with the most gratitude to each and every one of you, thank you…
