Flood Watch Issued for Northern New Haven County

Driving can get dicey this afternoon, evening and into tomorrow; take note of the flood watch and be safe!

An unseasonably warm December has kept the constant precipitation from turning into snow, but the National Weather Service has issued a flood watch in northern New Haven and Fairfield Counties in response to the constant rain.

The advisory, in effect until Thursday morning, warns that rain “may lead to flooding of small streams…poor drainage and urban areas…and roadways.” Approximately 2-4 inches are expected although rivers are not expected to flood. In northern parts of New Haven County, some forecasts show a chance of a mix of snow and rain tonight.
