Dare We Say It? Chance Showers This Weekend

A few weak frontal disturbances will give us a chance for a few afternoon showers and storms this weekend. Meanwhile, eyes are on the tropics once again.

The new tropical system in the Atlantic, Katia, has been teetering between tropical storm and hurricane strength for the last day or so. It is expected to intensify as it moves west-northwest towards the east coast over the next several days. It is still several days away from reaching land. At this time, it is forecast to make a turn towards the north and miss the U.S. coast. This will continue to be monitored closely.

Today: Expect partly to mostly sunny skies. Pleasant. Highs in the upper-70s. Overnight lows right around 60 degrees.

Saturday: Look for partly cloudy skies with a slight chance for an afternoon shower or thunderstorm. Any precipitation will be light. Highs in the upper-70s, with overnight lows in the upper-60s.
