Bridge Construction To Cause Railroad Service Cuts Along SLE

Schedule changes and some busing between stations east of Branford to start on April 23.

Similar to , commuters will soon face rush hour service cuts on the the Shore Line East railroad east of New Haven to accommodate construction on a railroad bridge in Madison/Clinton. 

The River Road rail project, called a "critical enhancement" by SLE on their website, is expected to change the travel schedule for riders. For a copy of the upcoming schedule, please click here (or download the attached). 

An article published by the Connecticut Plus web site said the schedule change would begin on Monday, April 23, and would require busing passengers between the Guilford, Old Saybrook and Westbrook stations.

The announcement said the changes were designed to produce the minimum amount of inconvenience for rail passengers according to the CT Department of Transportation and Amtrak. Service west of New Haven should not be affected, it said.
