Branford’s Unemployment Rate Shows Decline in April

The New Haven labor market gained jobs, although the state as a whole did worse.

Although the state lost jobs overall, ’s unemployment rate declined from March to April, according to the state Labor Department.

The New Haven Register said the New Haven labor market gained 3,300 jobs in April and saw unemployment decline, although statewide Connecticut lost 4,100 jobs.

State Department of Labor statistics showed that Branford’s unemployment rate dipped from 7.1 percent to 6.5 percent from March to April.
