Summer is a'comin' in, and what better way to celebrate than at a Renaissance Faire, our choice for the week? We're in the homestretch before Memorial Day (next Monday, according to my calendar), and the in Guilford is in full swing. The festival's third weekend includes a "fair maid" beauty contest, an actual archery contest torn straight from Robin Hood legend, and a chance for married couples to have their vows renewed by Friar Tuck and the mayor of Nottingham. We're not 100% sure, but we suspect coming in costume may provide a slight boost in your levels of enjoyment.
Parents and kids can also head to the Willoughby Wallace Memorial Library on May 21 for , a book discussion event geared towards children 3-5. The four-week series will cover friendship and family, and starts this week with two books on family, Little Gorilla and Rattletrap Car.
