Fran Pastore to Speak at Branford Chambers Women in Business Series

BRANFORD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND THE WEBSTER WOMEN IN BUSINESS SERIES PRESENTS FRAN PASTORE.

 

The Branford Chamber and the Webster Bank Women in Business Series is proud to announce that  Fran Pastore, President and CEO of the CT Women’s Business Development Council (WBDC). Will speak on September 12 , 2013 at 12:00 Noon at ELIS On the Hill. Ms. Pastore will review the history of  women entrepreneurs while offering her own unique perspective on the subject. She will examine issues related to legislation that has been designed to “level the playing” field for women.

Founder of the Connecticut Women's Business Development Council (WBDC).  Fran has spent more than 16 years as a devoted catalyst for women with an emphasis on economic self-reliance  through small business training, financial education and professional development.

In 2011 Fran was appointed to President Obama’s National Women's Business Council (NWBC), a non-partisan federal advisory council created to serve as an independent source of advice and counsel to the President, Congress, and the U.S. Small Business Administration on economic issues of importance to women business owners. Fran serves on the Advisory Council for The Akilah Institute for Women in Kigali, Rwanda as well as the Advisory Board for Stamford First Bank in Stamford CT.  She is a member of the Business Council for Peace.
