Jelly Belly is an age-old candy known for every flavor under the sun with everything from cherry to Dr. Pepper. But it wasn’t until recently that the company released it’s newest, albeit weird, concoction…. beer flavored.
Having not had the series myself I can’t vouch for if this is a fantastic or a terrible combination. After all, one might not think a jalepeno jelly bean or a buttered popcorn jelly bean to be delicious, but if I’m honest, I’ve certainly dabbled. The flavor, entitled “Draft beer” has been popping up all over the internet. Some are appalled and some are excited. Unsurprisingly, the company boasts that the flavor has been in high demand for several years. Personally, I’d rather get my beer calories from actual beer, but that’s just me.
The bean is alcohol free – so safe for children – and is described as, “The effervescent and crisp flavor is packed in a golden jelly bean with an iridescent finish. ” Whatever that actually means. Good news for those who aren’t satisfied with just one bean, Jelly Belly has already created a series of recipes to help turn your Jelly Belly into a shandy, a sangria, or even a Michelada.

Will be interesting to see how beer lovers embrace the bean. Either way, a younger series of beer drinkers may arise due to early exposure to the flavor.
