Where can I send my child for a well-rounded, joyous middle school experience?

Where can I send my child for a well-rounded, joyous middle school experience?

In large school environments, students contend with many aspects of the whole experience that have little to do with the purpose at hand – to expand, grow, explore, become active life-long learners.  Worry about fashion, cyber and direct bullying, the stigma that being smart isn’t cool.

If one could design an ideal environment for young adolescents to develop well, we have it – it’s Connecticut Experiential Learning Center (CELC).  Being a hard-working student is valued, as is being an individual.  Learning becomes an adventure when regular academics are integrated with many hands-on and minds-on field experiences.  Students work very closely with their teachers, developing rapport and understanding of the individual.

Connecticut Experiential Learning Center (CELC) in Branford offers small classes, exceptional academics, hands-on and real-world learning experiences for 5th-8th graders. The intention of the Connecticut Experiential Learning Center is to challenge students and nurture their highest potential. By providing a learning community based in the guiding principles of respect, integrity, responsibility and individual learning, the innate desire of all children to learn, grow, communicate, and create is honored.

CELC aims to serve families and students who want small classes, a structured and challenging curriculum combined with many hands-on and real-life experiences, all within a safe and nurturing learning community.

When many young adolescents complain about going to school, CELCers experience joy and excitement.

There are still openings available for the 2012-13 academic year. Please contact Maria or Melinda at mandm@CTExperiential.org or 203-433-4658, and visit the website http://CTExperiential.org to find out more.

rather harsh and does not mention Congress or that fact that any CEO expects their chain of commandRead More to do the job assigned. The events of the last few years, the endless wars, homeland terrorism etc. Not an easy time for any Commander -in Chief. When an article simply slams and does not balance with positive accomplishments, it is hard to see the readers point of view
