Branford's TGS Outdoors: New CT Gun Laws Hurting Business

Co-owner Mike Higgins of TGS Outdoors, a new gun store in downtown Branford, said new state gun laws are hurting his business.

Mike Higgins, the co-owner of TGS Outdoors, a gun shop that opened in downtown Branford earlier this year despite protest, said in a recent interview that new gun laws passed by the state are hurting his business.

Specifically, Higgins said there is a shortage of ammunition, and he didn't know why, according to the New Haven Register. Also, he said that stricter gun laws mean less gun sales, according to the Register.

“If our state was a free state, I could be making four times what I am now,” Higgins told the New Haven Register. “I’m just trying to survive, to be a small mom-and-pop shop, which the politicians love to claim that they support. But what they’ve done is to force me into a small puddle of inventory where I have to fight it out with other business like mine, and that’s if I can get types of guns that people are looking for, because there is a real shortage of product.”

Do you think Higgins has a point?
