Let’s pretend the weather is nice and you have guests coming for two to three days. Here are some suggestions for things to do.
Stop by and Walk Around the Green
Shop, have an ice cream and boast about the three churches, town hall and the Academy. Branford town center is charming and full of history. Also, most towns and cities outside of New England don’t have greens, so this is fun to share with guests.
Drive along the Coast from East Haven to Guilford
Branford’s shoreline is truly lovely. The first time I heard of Branford was many years ago when my parents sailed here and had a delicious seafood dinner at . Take a drive along scenic Route 146 from the Green, pass Lenny's and head to Guilford or take Shore Drive through Short Beach into East Haven. It’s worth the trip!
Check Out Branford Point
Pack a picnic and head to the Point. You can walk along the beach and in the then settle down to enjoy the gorgeous view as you eat. We sometimes bring our breakfast! It is a great way to start the day.
Visit Stony Creek
Take a Thimble Island Cruise, have breakfast or lunch at or Creekers Marine and Cuisine, or simply walk along the water and gaze out at the Thimble Islands.

It also makes you realize there is some truth to the proverb, “East, west, home’s best.” So, enjoy our hometown and share highlights of Branford with friends and family who visit.
