Could another frozen treat shop be coming to the Branford Green area? At the Sept. 9 Planning and Zoning meeting, the motion to change the use of the property at 1080 Main Street from retail to food service was approved.

According to the minutes, Heela Kim presented floor plans depicting the layout for a self-serve yogurt shop in space previously utilized for retail sales, most recently it was Crowning Glory. The shop would join Ashley's and Ben & Jerry's, which are also along the Green on Main Street.

Patch contacted the property owner of 1080 Main St., Elaine Parisi, who also owns Possessions, a clothing botique nextdoor, to find out when the froyo shop would be opening but the call was not returned.

Kim opened a self-serve yogurt shop, Flavors, at 290 York Street in New Haven last October, according to the Yale Daily News. This wouldn't be the first new yogurt shop opening in town as NuVita opened its doors in July 2012.
